Elliott Yamin是2006年度第五季“美国偶像”大赛的季军，出生在加州的洛杉矶，父亲Shaul Yamin，以色列的伊拉克犹太裔，母亲Claudette Goldberg Yamin（于2008年 3月31日去世，终年65岁），美国的德系犹太人后裔由于前专业歌手的身份和在她儿子的美国偶像比赛时她的“火热的精神”以及由Ryan Seacrest颁发的“Golden Idol for Proudest Family Moment Award”而闻名。Yamin 11岁时随他的家庭迁移到 Richmond，弗吉尼亚州，当他14岁时他的父母离异，他的父亲返回洛杉矶，自从第五季的美国偶像之后，他也迁居到洛杉矶。
