Pink Floyd是摇滚乐史上最伟大的迷幻摇滚乐队。这支乐队成立于1965年，最初由键盘手Richard Wright、鼓手Nick Mason、贝司手Roger Waters和主唱兼吉他手Syd Barret组成。在出版了第一张专辑后，由于Barret过度服用LSD，由David Gilmour替代了他的位置。在出版了两首走红的单曲“Arnold Layne”和“See Emily Play”后，乐队推出首张专辑《The Piper at the Gate of Dawn》，其中以Barret的作品为主。他创立了一种强烈而明显的音乐形式，将迷幻摇滚、电子乐和他的幽默结合在一起，确立了乐队作为一直迷幻空间摇滚乐队的形象。在他们以后的专辑中，更加侧重于各自在乐器演奏方面的非凡才能和录音技巧，即使是《Dark Side of the Moon》和《The Wall》也都是艺术化的史诗巨作，而不带有Syd式的疯狂。
